#3 Spring Day Theory

BTS -  SPRING DAY

Today is the 18th of September, and BTS will be releasing a new song in a couple of hours. I thought this would be a good time to share a theory I had on the song they released 7 months ago, Spring Day. I did not quite like the song at first but the artistic and abstract video caught my eye. Now I'm happy to say I love the song and here I present to you my theory that I created almost 4 months ago.

Spring Day combines both Omelas and No Vacancy into one story. Spring day shows the separate suffering of each of the seven boys. Taehyung , who was left at the train station suffers from the pain of being abandoned. Jimin suffers from the pain of the death of a loved one. Jungkook suffers from trauma. Jhope wants to be free. Rapmon is insecure and dissatisfied with himself. Suga has everything he wants on the outside but he's empty on the inside (looking for true love). Jin is stuck in his own past.

Jin's biggest scene is in the laundry. He puts his clothes to wash and walks away, but turns back to see the clothes spinning and spinning. The washing machine is see through but he cannot fully see the other side. The scene changes and it looks like something is looking at Jin through a lens, which is the window of the washing machine. Something is looking at Jin from the other side of the washing machine. Look closely and the other side of the washing machine has a brightly coloured wallpaper that looks peaceful and happy. Thea "something" looking at Jin is his future. It can be bright and happy. Jin puts his dirty laundry ( his bad past) to wash but he turns back. He cannot let go of the past and instead is struggling while trying to find a path to the future through the spinning clothes (the chaos and memory of his past).

Taehyung is left alone at the station in the cold and he continues to walk through the track alone. That is in winter, when spring comes, he finds the rest of Bangtan but cannot get over being abandoned by whoever left him at the cold station to find his way through the cold winter. This harsh road gives him maturity to be able to deceive and fake being happy.

Jungkook gets a shock while staring out the train. He runs through every single place shown in the MV to find his hyungs. This shows his reliance on them. Jungkook stands in front of the ride alone , the ride is towering over him. His trauma is taking over him. There are 7 seats on that ride. 7 members of Bangtan. The members rush past him in a flurry around the ride , this shows the members trying to help but he cannot see them properly or accept that help through his trauma and the anxiety.

Jimin holds two shoes in most scenes. There are stains on his shirt at the end, assuming it is blood , he did not witness neither did he kill anyone , but he is unable to let go of the death and is still hurting. At the end when he gestures towards the camera to come towards him, one of his sleeves are longer than the other. He is always pretending to be fine (sleeve covering his hand) but he is now ready to show Bangtan his pain (one sleeve is not covering his hand, he took a step to showing them his pain). The red area/ pink area they walk through represents brotherhood , blood ties. And the tree in the middle that is sort of white represents purity.

Suga is willing to sacrifice anything for those he loves (he is the husband figure in No Vacancy, Jhope being the wife figure) He has everything he needs on the outside (pile of clothes) and even his brothers are there in the pile of clothes. But Bangtan is cold towards each other in that scene , all caught up in their pain , stuck outside Suga's "wall". But he wants to try to open up ,to let them in and to receive their love.

Jhope wants to be free, to be happy and imaginative. He throws a paper plane from the roof of the train, this shows his childishness(paper plane) and need to be free (being on the roof of the train despite danger) . He is the wife figure in No Vacancy, being cowardly (he is sitting and not running or playing on the roof of the train) but at the same time seeking freedom and rebellion.(There is a poem about paper planes being a sign of freedom, childishness and imaginative)

Rapmon is dissatisfied with his own image. He wants to be better and is insecure. He walks into the room on the left of the motel. That room is the room that the child in Omelas is locked up in. A dark and terrible place full of demons (his insecurities) When Jungkook runs through there looking for him , it is dark (as described in omelas) Rapmon is haunted by his own demons.

In Omelas they play together but their smiles are always fake. Jin uses the pin to pierce Jimin's ear despite health precautions (infections etc.) This shows Jimin is willing to do anything to fit in to society (getting a piercing) Omelas is the representation of the stage, when Bangtan is on stage , they are in Omelas. Same as when on camera .

When Bangtan is off stage, they are in the train , all stuck in their own grief ,hardly offering any comfort to each other. But them running together shows their bond.

By the end of spring day, bangtan are all comforting each other and Jimin in front of the tree. Since Jimin has taken the first step to let go ,they all decide to be mature , and help each other on this cold road from spring to summer where it will become hot again and it is a season full of hope (described by jinyoung from B1A4)

Jin= "I am *awake* but I cannot see" (lost)

Suga= " I am looking for love like my *first love* , this time i will sacrifice everything. " (wants to find love)

RM = "I hate my *reflection*" (image issues)

J-Hope = " *Mama*, I want freedom." (childishness shown in the need to be free and to rebel)

Jimin = "It was a *lie*. You said you would be back after the trip" (Sewol Ferry Incident)

V= " The *stigma* is me , that's why I was abandoned" / "The *stigma* of being abandoned will always be with me" (He believes he is a disgrace / He believes it is disgraceful to have been abandoned)

JK = "My *begin*ing is something i can never forget" / "You make me *begin*"
(The source of anxiety/ trauma is something he cannot forget or as the song suggests , his hyungs help him get over his anxiety)

My sincere apologies if it has weird grammar or typos. I typed it on my phone and emailed it to myself. I have edited it already but forgive me if anything slipped past me. I hope to hear about your theory or even about how excited you are for DNA. Get updated on posts : @uglytruthkpop on Instagram. Now, let's wait for DNA together.

#2 iKON Kim Han Bin (B.I) Mental Health Issues?

iKON (YG) Many k-pop fans do not know of this underrated group iKON and even less about their leader, B.I. iKON is a group of 7 members with an average age of 21 (international age). They took part in YG's survival show, WIN - Who Is Next as Team B. They competed against Team A, now known as WINNER, a group of 5 members during the competition. [Now a 4 member group]. Team B, iKON had lost WIN and proceeded to go back to train at YG. In March 2014, 5 months after WIN ended, Team B was thrown into another survival show Mix and Match, where they were given the name iKON. There's only so much a person can take and what more at a young age? Here's why I think Hanbin may have developed some mental health issues and evidence to prove it: Firstly, to clarify, B.I's real name is Kim Hanbin , which is the name I prefer to use when referring to him. I honestly think Hanbin is a beautiful name. Now on to serious business. Some background information on Hanbin: Hanbin is a ...

#4 Line Distribution

Controversial Line Distribution Many fans struggle with one thing. Line distribution. It has been the cause of fan wars many times and is still a ongoing issue within fans. Especially with groups that have foreign members. Today I will prove that maybe, just maybe, having less lines is better. I don't know how you guys think your top class Korean music is produced, but I can easily tell you, it is produced with top class standards. And I mean, literally scrutinizing the music to every beat, every second, every word. Korean idols have stood out against crazy producers, hard recordings and scoldings many times, but for some reason, fans choose to ignore it. Idols have dropped hints and more hints, over and over again but fans never took heed. I'll show you all the everything you probably never noticed as well. Self producing idols are more likely to talk about the process of recording the song but it doesn't mean other idols don't either. Despite having some membe...

#1 Pentagon Maker 6 vs 4 Battle (Jinho Team versus E'dawn) [Suspicious Results]

Pentagon Maker (Mnet)  Every Pentagon fan will know what Pentagon Maker is, the survival show Cube and Mnet put 10 boys through to eliminate a couple of them only to bring them back because of a petition started by fans. Now, every K-pop fan knows Mnet is infamous for evil editing and playing dirty. So how dirty did Mnet actually play this time? Now in this battle, Pentagon member Jinho, an 8 year vocalist trainee that once performed with seniors in SM Ballad, and Pentagon member E'Dawn, the first member of Pentagon and an amazing dancer, were chosen to be leaders of two separate teams. They were to lead their teams to practice for a performance of their CUBE Seniors songs. They were fully unaware of the fact that BEAST Members , renowned musical vocalist, Yang Yoseob and genius dragon producer/rapper Yong Jun Hyung would be coming to judge their performance. Along with these BEAST members (now known as HIGHLIGHT), were the vice president and director of CUBE. Members were as...
